An Interview with Our Operations Manager, Sarah Trbovic

As we continue introducing all of the new staff at Lawrenceville Corporation, we’ve come to our newest team member, Sarah Trbovic! Sarah joined on as our Operations Manager in late 2021 and has hit the ground running, managing day to day operations of our home base, the Ice House Studios, and supporting the rest of the team in a variety of projects. Learn more about Sarah in our interview below!

What is your role in the Lawrenceville Corporation?

I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, including general management, human resources, office management and administration, accounting & bookkeeping, and managing the Ice House property and Blackbird Studios tenants. In short, I have my hands in a little bit of everything and love the variety. I never know what each day will bring.

What is a favorite quote of yours?

We all seem to be under a little stress these days so I love this one from Mr. Rogers about listening and caring for one another: “In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers.”

What is a current project that you are working on that you’re excited about?

While I don’t work on projects per se, one of my responsibilities includes managing the Ice House Studios. It is definitely a challenging building but I enjoy working with the tenants to make improvements to the space. I also love meeting all of the tenants and seeing how creative they are. Now that I am more settled, we hope to bring some programming to the space as well as a new roof and other energy efficiency projects.

If you could add something to the Lawrenceville community, what would that be?

Lawrenceville seems to have a little bit of everything which makes it so special. I see frustration on the part of visitors and residents alike with the limited amount of parking in the neighborhood and maneuvering around the narrow streets. The transportation planner in me would love to do a transportation plan for the neighborhood to come up with some ideas to alleviate some of the frustration I see. We need to find a way to make the streets safe for all modes of transportation while providing residents with adequate parking.

What was your first job?
My first job at 16 was making subs and sandwiches at Mim’s Hoagies in Chambersburg, Pa.

What led you to this work?

After working in the private sector for 20 years as a transportation planner/project manager/operations manager, I wanted a job that was a little more flexible and made a difference in a community. LC has an amazing staff that I enjoy working with to make Lawrenceville a better place.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I am someone that can’t just sit and relax very easily. I love being active whether it is gardening, going on hikes, walking my dog with friends or playing tennis or paddle.
