Lawrenceville Artists’ Studio Tour 2015
Since 2004, a group of Lawrenceville artists have organized an annual open studio tour—showcasing their creative spaces and individual processes to visitors from all over the area. This year, organizers have put together the largest event yet with 49 artists listed in 19 different locations including two collectives (Radiant Hall and the newly established 57th Street Studios).
Speaking with Seth Clark, one of the volunteer organizers, he describes this is an opportunity for the public to connect with local creators in a space that goes deeper than the gallery setting. He mentioned that a number of these spaces are never open to the public—that while many of the spots on the tour are used to guests that there are a number of studios in people’s personal homes.
The range of work is also greater than ever. From printmaking and creamics to embroidery, there’s an opportunity to discover work produced along and off of Butler Street.
