Owner, Neil fell in love with baking During his time working at Legume Bistro in Oakland. He began spending many hours teaching himself everything he could about sourdough baking.
He believes baking to be a lifelong pursuit and strives to learn something new every day.
In august of 2015 Driftwood Oven baked it’s first pizza for the public at The Brew Gentlemen Brewery in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Since then, we have traveled all over the Pittsburgh region baking countless wood-fired, naturally leavened pizza for this wonderful community.
By December 2017, Driftwood Oven was able to take the next step.
Thanks to the support of many loyal followers, Kickstarter funds propelled them forward into their own brick and mortar. Every day, their mission continues to be the same: providing to communities through inclusivity, working together, and never letting good pizza down for years to come.
