Public Information Meeting—Nominating Lawrenceville to the National Register of Historic Places

Please join us at 6 PM on Thursday, July 28th at the Arsenal School Auditorium, for a public information meeting about efforts to list most of the Lawrenceville neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office, the Pittsburgh Department of City Planning and the Urban Redevelopment Authority are co-sponsoring a nomination of Lawrenceville to the National Register of Historic Places – our nation’s list of significant historic properties.

Designation does not restrict property owners in any way. Property owners are free to manage their property in any way they see fit with no restriction or oversight due to National Register designation. National Register designation creates exceptional marketing and promotional opportunities and is an unparalleled method to raise public awareness about a community’s history.

Information about the National Register of Historic Places may be found on the State Historic Preservation Office’ website here: http://www.phmc.pa.gov/Preservation/National-Register/Pages/default.aspx and on the Park Service website: http://www.nps.gov/nr/.
